Hey guys! Long time no post, as I was in a bit of a funk and things were pretty busy. Of course that’s no excuse and with the new year right around the corner, I vow for a new year full of even better content. This post is pretty classic Mega Babe, with the New York City background and a casually styled outfit paired with hoop earrings. The day we shot this was absolutely beautiful, with the temperature in the high 50s and the sunlight that poured down from blue skies. It was an amazing contrast from the rest of this bleak, freezing December month and I finally did not have a heavy coat weighing down on my numerous layers of clothes. I’ve been loving my fishnet tights lately because they add such a unique detail and edge, peeking out from the holes of my ripped jeans and in between my sweater and jeans. Another great way to style them is with an oversized hoodie that is worn as a dress, or really with any skirt or dress. Also the title is white stripes, because when you look at the sweater you would probably describe it as a white sweater with black stripes, but have you ever thought that maybe it could be a black sweater with thick white stripes? I probably sound crazy, but it just shows that everything may not be what it seems, and there’s always multiple ways to look at something. I hope you guys had an amazing holiday break, and enjoy every last bit of its remainder. See you guys next year 😉!

THE LOOK: Bomber and Jewelry – Asos, Shirt – Nordstrom, Pants and Shoes – Macy’s

This business casual editorial addresses the other end of a city style. My city style usually consists of more edgy and textured pieces, such as leather jackets, ripped jeans, etc. but for this, I decided to show a more professional look. The white button up shirt and loose black trousers are essential to a more formal wardrobe; however, the messy tucking of the shirt and the silver accessories help amp up the otherwise more boring look. I love this dark blue bomber jacket, because you could easily dress it down or up, as I did in this post. It adds a simple yet beautiful splash of color and nicely contrasts the white shirt. The color palette of my outfit, as well as its style, effortlessly blend into the reflective blue toned city behind me.

Brooklyn is such a magical place, meshed into a sort of urban suburb. I love quiet neighborhoods like these- colorful townhouses lined up tightly, with the playful shadows of trees decorating the façades. At this time of year, the roads are also scattered with leaves that glide along with the occasional breeze. This borough, with its winding lines outside the pizzerias and a beautiful, yet underrated park, is the ideal city getaway. In this editorial, I’m wearing more color than I usually do. Verbally, purple would seem rather strange being paired with red, but when I saw the rich plum colored velvet paired with the top, it seemed immaculately appropriate. The tight vs. loose silhouettes as well as the contrast between the lengths of the top and bottom truly make this a suitable pairing. Although my background is colorful, my look still stands out with its textures and brightness, while also perfectly manifesting the chill and artistic vibe of Brooklyn.

I know you guys are sick of seeing pictures of me, so instead, I am featuring my friend and mega babe Danielle.  For this look, we decided to go with a flowy, printed blood-orange top and classic ripped jeans. This top is a perfect mix of a city and boho look while also perfect for the fall season.

2 Halloween Ideas

ALIEN: This look is super silvery and glowy- two things that I love. With my silver maxi dress and modern silver accessories, I was able to create my twist on a galactic character. I made sure to use shimmery eyeshadows, along with lots of highlight, a thicker wing on my eyes, and a natural lip to create a very dewy but extraterrestrial effect. Although not everyone may have a silver dress laying around in their closets, I wanted to show that you could easily turn anything in your wardrobe into a stylish halloween look. The dress and earrings are from Forever 21 and my necklace is from Asos. Compared to most costumes on Party City, this option is not only a lot cheaper and practical, but also super suitable for someone who likes to be stylish no matter what occasion.

BOXER: This look is a lot more edgier than the classy alien costume. However, it goes with a traditional Halloween theme of being dark and scary, while also not a clichéd costume like a witch or vampire. I paired a sports bra with Spandex and a black satin robe- pieces that are often common in a wardrobe. To enhance the outfit, I created a darker makeup look with a dramatic black eyeliner wing, brown-red eyeshadow, and a pop of color with my black cherry lipstick. My handcuff necklace from Asos also went quite well with the overall feel of this look. This is actually my costume for this year, so I’m super excited to wear it out.

Although these costume ideas may be more common than unique, I added my personal spin in order to get that individualized effect. Hopefully this post inspired you to create a Halloween costume that’s stylish, practical, and affordable (because you only wear it once a year), but also with influence from your personal style.

This look is super classic and simple in terms of the pieces as well as how they pair together. Although the denim jacket and off-the-shoulder tops are quite common items on their own, you rarely see them layered. I really liked the contrast of the ruffly and denim texture, as well as the looser fit blouse versus the more structured and stiff jacket. I completed the look with a pair of black denim jeans in order to shift the focus towards the top and also to maintain a casual fall outfit style. This editorial is called Under Construction, because as you can tell it was shot at a construction sight. I chose this location for two reasons, one being that the yellows, reds, and deconstructed feeling really goes well with the look, but also the symbolic significance. Like the construction site, we’re constantly reshaping and creating ourselves. Personally, I am constantly under construction, whether its improving the content of my blog, developing my personal style, or enhancing my attitude and purpose in life. For example, I am always looking to improve my outlook on life in many ways, from my communication with other to the way I think. I hope that you guys can likewise reconstruct flawed aspects of your life, and even if there aren’t any flaws, know that there is always room for improvement.
