To me, this outfit embodies the current definition of “trendy.” Combining the two vanguard styles of street style and “Instagram fashion”, the outfit is daring and urban. I’ve seen this pair of camo pants all over social media in various different colors—blue, black and white, orange, and more—but surprisingly enough, they are actual military pants that originate from stores such as Walmart. You ask, then, why are they so popular? And is this really considered fashion? Although I probably can’t answer the latter question, as I’ve fallen into the traps of this style of streetwear, but to answer the first: social media is such a powerful proponent of fashion. Because so many trendy influencers have worn it, they are like the modern mannequin, such as turning military pants into something wearable and stylish. The white top I wore spices up your basic white t-shirt and helps balance out the pants. Overall, to achieve a rugged, but put together, “fierce” look, I paired the clothing items with a mesh detailed jacket and my Doc Marten boots. These boots were originally worn by police in England, also demonstrating fashion’s universality that doesn’t necessarily have to begin on the runway.
